Treatment Programs

You haven't failed because you've turned to drugs and alcohol to cope. But you do need to find new coping methods and deal with underlying issues to rid yourself of the desire to use these substances again. That's what we'll help you do at Potential Life.

Potential Life Intensive Outpatient Program

Your health and mental wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do. We understand that there isn't one solution or ideology that can help recovering addicts heal and have long-term success. Hence our services cover all aspects of recovery in an outpatient program, these services have been created to help addicts on the road to recovery and help them in sobriety.

Our Services Include

Group Therapy

The isolation, shame and fear of ridicule are all diminished in group therapy. Connecting with others, you're able to learn from your peers experiences and share your own. This is a caring and compassionate environment in which you're encouraged to share, listen and support each other, allowing you to break free from your own stigmas and self-imposed isolation. Lead by a professional, each group session is structured- giving each individual member the tools they need to move forward. It's an excellent place to talk about your experience in a non-judgemental environment.

Individual Therapy

The goal of individual therapy is to get users to be able to live a life free of drug and alcohol dependence. During your one-on-one sessions your therapist or counselor will make an effort to discover what lead to your use and abuse of alcohol or drugs. They'll help you break free from the associations you may have toward these substances and why you've felt it necessary to use them in the past. Each session acts as a building block that brings you one step closer to realizing your desire to maintain long-term sobriety.

Family Sessions

Family support is paramount to avoiding and preventing relapse. It may also assist in diagnosing and realizing underlying issues that could have lead to addiction and use as well as caused recurring use in the addicts life. These sessions may help identify mental health issues such as depression and anxiety. It's a learning opportunity for relatives and loved ones of addicts to understand the disease and addiction so they can offer support and be a part of minimizing stress and other triggers. Besides the benefits family therapy has on the addict, these sessions are an excellent opportunity for families to learn how to cope with the addiction, recovery or even relapse of their loved ones. Offering one another support, so they don't feel isolated and alone.

Relapse Prevention

Discover the 3 key elements that lead to relapse - emotional, mental and physical. Our relapse prevention program is a very important part of what we do at Potential Life. In this program we teach clients to recognize the warning signs, identify their triggers and manage their response so they can avoid relapsing; learning about various coping methods that can easily be introduced and used in real life situations. In addition, we offer support to our clients in their darkest hours when they'll need it most.

Trauma Processing

Addiction often originates because of trauma, as such the addiction is considered a way to escape the pain felt when reliving that traumatic event. It can be anything from job loss and divorce, to quite extreme experiences like natural disasters, violence, abuse and losing a loved one. To cope with these events individuals may turn to drugs and alcohol as a way to numb the pain. It is our mission at Potential Life to uncover the trauma and events surrounding it and offer therapeutic and medical intervention so that addicts can live without the need of alcohol or drugs to cope.
